DESCRIPTION: Up to 6mm. A bronze to yellowish looking shieldbug whose main identification features are the small size, habitat and the pale spot at the basal angles of the scutellum. BEHAVIOUR: Overwinters in moss or within the soil. The larvae feed in groups on the fruits of Slender St John's Wort. DISTRIBUTION: Well established in the New Forest and very local in south Wales and some areas of the Midlands. HABITAT: Damp heathland and cleared acidic areas. PERIOD: September to June. |
